Kerek telaga

In the telaga we have the kerek, the concrete forms form the walls of the well, stacked perpendicularly from the bottom of the pit to above ground, safely to the height of the waist levels of adults. Then, once in a while, if after several karal (Kamus Dewan : mengaral = menarik) of water with the timba; and if the water is found murky, we would then get somebody to ranya (Kamus Dewan : mencuci [membersihkan] telaga dll dengan membuang lumpur).

In Kg Kota, the kerek were made by man named Tok Ngulu Daud (I think), and for some aesthetic reason, kerek makers always left them rolling by the roadside.
